Who We Are
LAVA at a Glance
LAVA Computer MFG. Inc. headquartered in Toronto, Canada, designs and manufactures serial and parallel I/O boards and Ethernet-to-serial device servers widely used in the Point of Sale, Kiosk, Gaming, Industrial Automation, Hospitality, Security and Access Control industries. LAVA also has engineered the LAVA IP System (LIPS), an application-specific IP interface and hardware family for IP enabling Internet of Things devices quickly and at low cost. With well over a million LAVA products built into workstations, servers, retail POS systems, and industrial computers since 1984, LAVA I/O boards and Ether-Serial Links are trusted by resellers, distributors, OEMs and system builders in over 47 countries worldwide. Designed for lifetime performance, each LAVA connectivity link is individually tested and covered by the LAVA Lifetime Warranty.
The Source for Ports
LAVA specializes in serial connectivity, our core technological competence. This means we not only make standard and custom serial port products, we understand their application with external peripherals. Taking a strong partnership approach with our customers, resellers and distributors, our philosophy and tight integration of operations enables us to provide serial connectivity products that are Simple, Configurable, and Reliable.
Serial device servers represent LAVA’s flagship product line. LAVA Ether-Serial Links are specifically designed to IP-enable and control peripherals from a remote server. However, internal serial port boards for use in computer-based applications that require additional COM ports remain popular with system builders, resellers, and distributors worldwide.
LAVA has also engineered the LAVA IP System (LIPS) for interfacing virtually any CPU to IP networks.
